Montana Luxury Escapes, LLC manages vacation rental properties in Whitefish, Flathead Lake and western Montana. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

What we collect
When you book or enquire
Your name, email address, phone number, postal address, the property and dates you are interested in, the number of guests, and anything you tell us in a message or special request.
When you pay
Card details are entered directly into a secure form hosted by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe handles the card. We never see or store the full card number, only a reference to the transaction, the amount, and the last four digits.
When you browse
Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you arrived and how long you stay. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
When you contact us
Emails, calls and messages, along with anything you choose to include in them.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account details or government identification through this website.
Why we collect it
- To take and manage your booking, and to contact you about your stay
- To take payment and, where applicable, to hold a refundable damage deposit
- To send confirmations, arrival instructions and practical information
- To send marketing emails, where you have opted in
- To understand how the website is used and improve it
- To measure the performance of our advertising
- To detect and prevent fraud
- To meet our tax, lodging and legal obligations
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We do share it with the services that make the business work.

Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what it does with that information. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of our guests.
Advertising, and your right to opt out
We advertise on Google, Meta and ChatGPT. To measure whether those adverts work, those companies place cookies and receive information about your visit.
Under California law and the privacy laws of several other states, including the Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act, this counts as sharing personal information for targeted advertising, even though no money changes hands.
How to opt out
Email info@montanaluxuryescapes.com with the subject Do Not Share My Personal Information and we will stop sharing your information for advertising purposes. You can also use your browser's Global Privacy Control setting, which we honour automatically.
Opting out will not affect your booking or the service you receive.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- Delete what we hold, subject to records we are legally required to keep
- Stop sharing it for advertising purposes
- Send you a copy in a portable format
Email info@montanaluxuryescapes.com and we will respond within thirty days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in California, these rights come from the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. If you are in Montana, they come from the Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act.
Cookies
We use cookies for three things.
- Necessary. Making the site work, and remembering your dates and selections while you book. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics. Understanding which pages are used and where people leave, through Google Analytics.
- Advertising. Measuring which adverts lead to bookings, through Google, Meta and OpenAI.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the necessary ones may stop parts of the site working.
How long we keep it
- Booking records for seven years after the stay, which tax and accounting rules require
- Enquiries that did not lead to a booking for two years
- Marketing contacts until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send
- Website analytics for twenty six months
Security
Payments are handled by Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest level in the card industry. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's own secure form and never pass through our systems.
This website is served over an encrypted connection, and booking data is held in Hostaway under access control.
No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information we will tell you, and the relevant authorities, as the law requires.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant we will tell anyone with a current booking by email.
